Equine chiropractic is used to improve the health and performance of all horses ranging from retired ponies up to top level completion horses. It works by restoring correct joint motion which leads to optimum function of the neuromusculoskeletal systems (nerves, muscles and bones/joints).
It is important to maintain horses’ overall health, which is why Lucy will work alongside and refer to vets, farriers, nutritionists and trainers where relevant.
Your horse does not need to have an obvious problem to benefit from treatment, however common indications for chiropractic care include: behavioural problems which may indicate pain, performance issues, stiffness or decreased mobility, injury recovery, asymmetry.
Treatments take place at your yard for your convenience. Lucy will take a detailed history, talk through with you the issues that your horse has and agree a treatment plan. Treatments are gentle and pain-free and you will be provided with thorough after-care advice. It is recommended that you leave 24 hours after treatment before exercising your horse.
